Welcome to the online module Ethical Considerations for Children Undergoing Surgery. This module is intended for healthcare providers and trainees who care for children in surgical settings, such as nurses, physicians, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, child life specialists, support workers, therapists, and others.
The purpose of this module is to provide an overview of the ethical concerns that clinicians may encounter caring for a child undergoing surgery. This 4-part module will highlight considerations for addressing potential ethical concerns and dilemmas and offer strategies and resources to support the participation of children in their care in the Canadian context.
